Computer & computer desk info
We have a new 3400. I have not been able to locate an electrical outlet at the computer desk. Has anyone added one? Also, not being a computer guru, I am in the market for a laptop. Any recommendations would be welcome, as well as recommendations on peripherals (printer, etc.) since space is at such a premium.

We have an electrical outlet behind the curtain on the side wall close to the desk (left hand side)....you have to look to see it. Let us know if you find it.

I also have an electrical outlet at the same location as Steves. I have a Toshiba Satellite and a E-Machines laptop. Dell has pretty good deals also. I normally don't carry a printer in the Monty. Printers are cheap these days. Cannon, HP, or Lexmark are good printers. The main cost are the replacement cartriges. Cannon sells their cartriges a lot cheaper than Lexmark.
Good Luck!

We also have a wall outlet on left hand corner between the two windows. (3475 is same set up as 3400) Bill cut a small hole and we run the cord to our surge protector up from the floor into this outlet. All other cords go down the hole and plug into the surge protector. I use a small Gateway laptop that has been great ($500) and Bill uses a Comcaq laptop. I like mine better because it is smaller and lighter. I get the desk. He gets the lap. We keep the printer (HP) on the floor under the desk. It is small and doesn't interfere with my feet at all. Paper and inks, camera supplies etc go in the chair storage space.

Our setup is a lot like Helen's. On our 3400 there was a closed cover under the desk. During our PDI the tech mentioned this was wiring that was possible to add an outlet. We did this. The surge protector and speaker subwoofer plugs into that outlet. We cut a hole in the desk top and put one of those little gromets on it. I also run the wires from the keyboard and mouse up thru this hole from the keyboard drawer we installed. The printer sets under the desk for travel and on top of the desk when parked. It is a small HP. I have a new Dell laptop that is fab. I also have a Compaq. When we full time my Sony desk top will go with us. Both the desktop and laptop are multi media versions. We have an outlet behind the curtains also.
When we moved the couch to the back we found another one of those covers at the corner of the large slide. We haven't had the need to do anything with that as yet.
Happy trails..........................

When we bought our last Dell laptop, we got a special deal on an All in One printer/fax/scanner, etc. Ink can be expensive but it's a nice small unit for all that it does. Dell offers great support. Recently my cord broke and the new one came in just over 24 hours. What a nice surprise.

Mine is also located in the left hand corner behind the curtain tie down. I use a Gateway laptop, that desk works great for computer use.

drjjj, we can't help you with the outlet since we have a 3280, but we did a lot of research on laptops. We finally decided on a Dell 1705, a little more expensive but it will do more than what we will ever need. There are a lot of good laptops out that will do amazing things and even offer FREE printers too!

We installed our 3 in one printer in the space above the TV & Fireplace. Hooked it up w/wireless letting me use the laptop wherever I want, even outside the rig on those nice warm days. We have the 3650 RK, different design but the wireless function can be the same. Hope this helps.

We have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop and an HP printer. Have enjoyed both.

I have a cheap HP 2000 wireless laptop. My Moto E815 cell phone doubles as a air card, and is connected to my laptop with Bluetooth (no wires). Our 3-in-1 HP printer fits nicely on the desk (back right side). Usually sit in a recliner with the laptop. Clip the phone on on of the lamps, and I can be 30 ft away. When I am in a WiFi spot for a while, I can call Alltel and tell them to discontinue my data service until I tell them to turn it back on - I have NO CONTRACT with them (done on purpose).

We got a deal on a Toshiba that came with a high capacity battery so we are good for quite a few hours on battery power which is good but I like to sit on the kitchen table when I am on the computer and we have a plug beside the table if we need 110 for the charger adaptor.
The little computer desk under the TV had a plug in the cupboard but I took the fold up desk out of there because we never used it and now we gain more storage space.
