I had a Reese brake controller installed in my truck that I had from a previous truck. I was having trouble with this unit as it will only apply what you have the volts set to. You could hear the brakes every time I would hit the brake pedal as it usually seemed too much for in town and parking lot. I had to set the volts higher for highway to bring my coach to a stop if need be. I was at the dealership and the heard what was happening and recommended the Tekonshia brake controller as it has sensors built into it. It will take nose angle from braking, amount of pressure on the brake pedal and apply the right amount of power each time. I never hear the brakes anymore. Sudden and hard stopping feels very strong and works well. Slower braking applies less power to the brakes and still stops with ease. To sum this up, with the Reese I had to remember to turn it up for highway speeds, but when in town I had to turn it down as the volts were too high. With the Tekonshia I had the dealer do the trial run and set up and have not had to touch it since. Plus I do like the silent brakes as well.
