I had all of my slide seals replaced just a couple months ago. I didn't try doing it myself because it's too hard on teh fingers. The seal slips over a metal strip and it's hard to get the seal all the way onto the strip.

I had someone do it on the bedroom. Then the next year the living room seal tore and I did it myself. It is pretty easy. However, there is a screw from the INSIDE out thru the edge that holds the seal in place ans stops it from dropping to the ground. Of course I didn't know that at the time!!! Anyway, once you get this screw loose, I think it slides right out the bottom. It has been over a year, and I can't remember if there were some little clamps at top or bottom to also hold it or not. But there is some sort of track it just slides right up and once in place the screw stops if from sliding back down.
Do it yourself saves about an hour of labor @ $100 or so. Of course, do it yourself means it takes 2 hours since you don't know exactly what you are doing!!!! :-)
Good luck

But like most do-it-yourself jobs, when you're done you know it was done right. When a shop does it you never know if they know what they're doing, and since it isn't their rig they don't care. Now before I get blasted, I know there are excellent shops out there, but in my area, I wouldn't give you two cents for either of the CWs. JMHO

The seal I need to replace is the bottom seal on the trailer of the bedroom slid. I have about 6" of the seal inside the bedroom, Can someone tell me where to start?
