Home from a great trip!

Well we made it home today. We left Laughlin, NV about 11:30 and arrived in Bakersfield, CA about 5:45. We had one of our best ever days for traveling. Beautiful clear day with little to no wind.

After a great, if sometimes windy and rainy, visit to Quartzsite, AZ we journeyed south to Yuma. We were lucky to be able to stay with Mel and Joy Thompson for a couple of weeks. There was a bit of rain one day while in Yuma. Mostly it was simply great weather.

We also made several trips to Algodones, MX. We had some dental work done as well as securing some new glasses. Longest it took us to exit MX was about 45 minutes. Our new passport cards worked as advertised. Took about 30 seconds for Custom Agent to clear us for re-entry to good old U.S.!

We then proceeded to Laughlin, NV for a couple of nights. While we were there we went to a show by the Smothers Brothers. Wow! These guys are good! They have their routines down pat! Other than the obvious aging signs.... bald and gray the brothers looked and sounded almost exactly like they did in the 60s. Great show. We really enjoyed seeing them.

While we were in Quartzsite we also attended a showing of the New Christy Minstrels. They also were great. Some really nice visits back in time!

We cannot thank Mel and Joy along with Mel's father Charlie enough for their fantastic hospitality! We also met one of Mel's brothers, Mike. Mel and Joy have a great home and we were fortunate to share it for a few days. Bob and Sharon Grissom arrived a few days after we arrived and stayed a few days longer.

All our trips have been good but this one was absolutely outstanding. What a wonderful lifestyle RVing is and what a great group of folks we have in the MOC membership.

Now we will get ready for the Spring Rally in Kerrville, TX. See you all there!

Happy Trails!

Dennis and Mary Kay

We enjoyed seeing you at Quartzite and are glad the rest of your trip was great and you arrived home safe and sound. We are only sorry we can't join you in Texas.

Don't unpack everything.. Texas is only a month away.

Can't wait to see you guys again and meet your two little ones.

Don and Mary Ann,
It was great seeing you folks too. Sorry you had such and ordeal getting down to Q. But your trip home went well. Too bad we'll miss you at the Spring Rally but hope to see you in Northern CA and OR.

Wendell and Margaret,
Great to hear from you. Hey! One of these winters you guys need to hook up your rig and head out to the Quartzsite area. Would love to see you again after these several years.

Charlie and Nila,
We had a great time and it was so nice seeing you guys! I am so happy to see you enjoying your Monty and travels around this great country of ours. See you soon.

Helen and Bill,
You are absolutely correct! I doubt we'll have time to unpack before it is time to hit the road for Texas. We're really looking forward to seeing you guys. It's been too many years! We'll get the rig in order and hit the road in just a couple of weeks. See you in Texas.

As soon as things settle down here we'll give you a call. See you toward the end of the week.
