Anchor's Aweigh!

RV Resort, that is, in Foley, AL, about 8 miles north of Gulf Shores. We're in site 84 until the end of March 2009. Stop by or PM for a get together.

Make sure you have a good weather radio or watch weather there! We tried to see a friend last Feb. but were precluded by a tornado WARNING for that Mobile Bay area!!! Enjoy, and be safe!

Chris and Dave, Myself, Bingo and Cathy(will be Thanksgiving week). and Delaine and Lindy are in the Ft Walton area, actually Delaine and Lindy are in Gulf Shores and are moving over here the end of November. They were over today and we had lunch with them, a great couple with a neat story. We are planning a get together for one day Thanksgiving week, can we count you in? We haven't picked a spot yet but will as it gets closer. I will PM you my cell number and give us a call.....

All, a "mini-MOC" get-together sounds great! We are leaving here on Tuesday, 25 Nov and returning on Saturday, 29 Nov. Met some great folks up in PA this past spring - they were work-kamping - and they invited us to their home in New Iberia, LA for a real "Cajun Thanksgiving" to include a "turducken". That's a turkey stuffed with a semi-boneless duck stuffed with a semi-boneless chicken. Other than those days, we'd love to get together. I'll PM our cell phone number.

To all who are interested,
To make everyone aware of our schedule, we will be arriving Saturday, Nov. 22 after an all-night drive (15 hours), so our week does not really start until Sunday. Weather permitting, Monday would be a good day for us if everyone can work out a get-together spot. We will be at Topsail and would be glad to host depending on what everyone wants to do. We are also willing to travel wherever, but we are not military (retired or otherwise), if that limits on-base locations. Again, don't take this wrong, we are willing to do whatever all decide. If you have not been to Topsail, it is a georgeous park, tramway to the beach boardwalk, a couple of miles of white sandy beach, lots of hiking trails, and a beautiful setting. Here is the web-site if you are interested:
http://www.floridastateparks.org/top...ll/default.cfm
Once we get there, we will not have forum access. Keep us informed via forum postings, e-mail or PM's. We are definitely looking froward to a get-together!!

Bingo-- Don't know much about the State Park system in Florida. Do you have to have a State Park Permit there like we do here in Nebraska?

Topsail actually has a full hookup RV area that is fantastic at $38 a night. Reservations are through Reserveamerica.com. Here is the site we will be staying in to give you an example, the sites are awesome:

Of course there will be a Montana there with us not a MH
