Wheels

Per Tredit Tire the folks who install the wheels and tires on Montans, if your wheels have eight spokes they are rated for 110 PSI and can handle G rated tires. If your wheels have five spokes they are rated for 80PSI and you have to use E rated tires. According to Tredit Tire all 2010 and newer Montana's have the eight spoke wheel and are rated for 110 PSI.

At the rally they pointed out, however, that the early 2010's made in 2009 could have the 80 psi wheels. On a 2010 you have to check, on the newer models you're good to go.

Absolutely correct. My 2005 had 8 spoke wheels but could not take the G-Load tire.

In addition to the ratings on the alloy rims, keep in mind that the majority of the steel rims are also rated for the higher pressures. As with anything, this needs verified with the rim manufacturer.

Forgot to mention, you also need eight lug nuts for the wheels to be 110 PSI.

They are also stamped into the metal on the back side of one of the spokes.

We have the 8 lug nut wheels but they are only good for 80 psi. We were told by Tredit that our rims are the only aluminum rims they make that are not 110 psi rated. All other aluminum rims they make will carry the G614s. Aren't we Lucky?? Need to find some wheels and by the way they will give you nothing for your old rims.
