Fuse for Front Jacks

We're on the road and my 30amp fuse keeps blowing when I raise my trailers front feet up. There's a clicking sound in the motor then the fuse blows. I've gotten some info in the other forums and one guy says he uses a 40amp. I don't want other problems but this might help. I blew 4 fuses before I got it raised enough to hook up to the pickup.

I use a circuit breaker, it fits in the fuse holder.

(The fuse package shown is just to show the type of fuse, not the amp rating of it)

Ozz gave you info for the electrical side. The clicking noise should be researched and identified too. Is the clicking at the top of the raising process?

The clicking noise comes from where the motor goes into the gear mechanism. I bought some 40amp fuses so I will try that in the morning when me are moving. But, I agree, I need to take the whole thing apart to see if a gear might have something wrong. Thanks

The motor goes into the reduction gear that is suppose to have a slip clutch. Mine never slipped and stripped the gears in the leg when I raised them too high. If the clutch is slipping that suggest to me something is binding in one of the legs. Is the clicking sound there when there is no weight on the landing legs.
Good luck.

You might want to check the motor for the jacks. I had a problem awhile back and one problem we found was the motor that runs the screws was loose. I understand that this is a common problem.

I did recheck and I think that there was a bind in the legs. When we arrived at our next park the site was more level and when I raised the front there was no clicking or binding so it worked fine. My motor was loose on our last trip so I tightened it as well as I could. When we get back home I might take the gear housing apart to see if any of the gears are bad.
