Propane Water Heater Repair
Recently our propane hot water heater quit working. I searched everywhere for repair suggestions etc., but nowhere could i find a solution that fit my situation. You tube repairs did not address the propane valve itself. In this situation the igniter worked fine, but no gas was getting to the burner tube.
In my analysis i determined that it was the valve. I checked on line and could buy the valve, burner tube and the igniter for around $120.00. I called the local RV Repair and Parts store (Apache Junction RV Service and Repair).
I explained my problem and the gentleman said you don't need a new valve you just need to replace one or both of the solenoids on the valve. He said bring the valve in and we will tell you whats wrong. They tested the valve and found one of the solenoids bad. I replaced both for a total of $25.00 and the burner tube for another $12.00 even though i probably didn't need one. Low and behold the water heater now works fine. By the way a local repair company wanted $300.00 plus parts to fix it. Posting this solution as i couldn't find this information anywhere. Hope it helps someone. Strongly recommend the Apache Junction RV Service and Repair. My water heater is a Suburban SW10DDE.
