Magnum dimensions inverter!
I have a 2020 montana HC 365bh. When i came to park the 5er the batteries were dead and had to use jumper cables to take out jacks and slides. Well i have new batteries and now my inverter does not even turn on. I am getting 12.6v at the back of the inverter using volt meter but it is not even turning on. Was wondering if anyone has gone through this, current have a charger on the batteries 24/7 because if not batteries die due to them not charging. Any advice or an affordable inverter/charger? Or any diy i can do to inverter troubleshooting please help!

Well, this may sound like a very simple and maybe even a stupid response, but I think you need to clarify all the basics..... There is an on-off button on the inverter itself. Did you push it "on"? (In addition to the battery cut off switch that leads to the inverter?

The CONVERTER, converts 120vac to 12vdc and charges the batteries. The model number is on a white sticker inside the panel.
The flashing green light is the Charge wizzard mode. If you press on the black button next to it for four seconds it will change mode. Boost, Normal, Standby. The details are on the PD webpage.

The INVERTER, takes 12vdc from the batteries and makes 120vac to run your residential fridge etc when you are not on shore power.
There is a shut off switch for this in the battery compartment. The inverter also has a small reset button on it (GFIC).

With shore power hooked up, what is your voltage at the battery? If the converter is charging, it should be over 13 volts. If not, then the converter is not charging the battery. Check that the cross polarity fuses on the converter are not blown. Hooking the battery up backwards, for even an micro-second, will blow them. Mine has 4.
These would be the first things to check.

If the converter is charging, it should read more than 13 volts. Disconnect the negative lead from the battery and read across positive and the negative lead without checking the battery. My guess is that it will read zero, meaning the converter is not supplying power. If that's the case, start by checking the reverse polarity fuses. Mine are in the fuse panel/breaker box just inside the door of the trailer.

As a point of clarification, my inverter/charger has two buttons on the Magnum, one for each function.
- Is the ''charge'' function button on?
- Be sure to check the circuit breaker on the inverter itself, it must be in, and the "inverter'' function button on for it to work.

If you have 12v batteries in parallel this is the easiest way so they charge and discharge evenly. This method is called "Diagonaly".
It is important that the interconnecting cables between the batteries are equal in lenght.
If you have 6vdc batteries it is different....
They are wired in series then parallel.

Maybe start a new thread not to hijack this one.
That's an interesting wiring setup.

12.6 is quite low, it should be more like 13.2, however that voltage should still turn on the inverter. Hydraulics require a very full battery, hooking up to shore power won't cut it or to the truck. Maybe the batteries just need a full charge, that may take 6 or 8 hours or even more depending on type, temp, SOC, charger. There is no such thing as a good cheap charger. If your batteries are NOT real deep discharge batteries, ie the word crank or the initials CCA or MCA are on the battery, then they will wear out fast. A real deep discharge or golf cart 6V Trojan T105 (a pair) will move the hydraulics a couple time before needing a re-charge. If you boondock a lot then get Lithium, but if you are always hooked up, a decent hybrid battery will do. In between those two extremes is Trojan country.

Almost forgot, what does the inverter have to do with the dead batteries, or not being able to power the hydraulics?
As to the wiring diagram it is correct as long as you have not changed anything. Did you change the breaker as advised by Lippert?
It makes a difference if you are living full time, storing or normal weekends and a few weeks vaca, which is it?
An easy test for the inverter is to remove the battery wires then use jumpers form truck to inverter battery input. If the inverter still does not power on then it might be toast but is there a fuse, breaker, anything else that might prevent it from coming on? Also disconnect the inverter output in case it is tripping the inverter.

I think you should check it out yourself like I explained. Unplug whatever is plugged into the Inverter (I am guessing the residential fridge) and disconnect the battery wires. Now use a set of jumper wires from your vehicle to the inverter battery posts. Look at the front, push the ON button and see if it lights up. Plug the fridge back in and go open the door to see if it is running. Let us know.
