Wiring a Double Tow

I plug the fifth wheel into the bed connector. I was wandering if I could make a harness to plug into the bumper connector and run it to the back of the fifth wheel to power a second tow with brakes. Anyone have knowledge about that. Thanks.

I have never tried anything like that, but I do have a light bar on the tailgate of my truck that plugs into the second connector. It lights up white for backup lights, and red for tail lights and brake lights as well as show the turn signals.
I only mention it to say that both connectors do work as I also use the connector in the bed for the fifth wheel.
That would seem like an awfully long run though. You'd need to upsize the wire for that distance.

I talked to e-trailer and he said it wouldn't work. The brake controller in the truck would control the brakes differently for each trailer. They sell a tongue controller that can be mounted to the second trailer tongue to control the brakes.

I've double towed small boats and jetskis behind 3 different Montana's over my RV years without issue. However if you're trying to tow something as heavy to need brakes for towing that something ... You're asking for way more trouble than you can imagine.

Easiest solution would be surge brakes on the pup trailer (second trailer) similar to what is used on the tongue of a lot of boat trailers. With that said, I personally would never double pull anything remotely heavy enough to require brakes on the pup trailer. I know it is done, but I'm not gonna be "that guy". My two cents...

If your trailer is under warranty double towing will void your warranty
