Hangin’ it up
Well, the time has finally come. We are thinking about selling our beloved 06 2955RL. Any ideas on where to go to establish a fair value?

I would check sales ads for like units to get a feel and go from there.

Go to nada.com for their used RV pricing. Then google your model and year and see national listings for similar models and their listed prices. But be aware those national listings are asking prices that vary widely and are asking prices and not necessarily actual sell prices.
I found the nada price was about average for the national listings (some unreasonably higher, some lower). I listed mine on Facebook Marketplace for what I felt a reasonable price and sold it two days later. One advantage of Marketplace is you can limit the ad area to a defined distance from your location making it easy to show potential buyers. And to meet them at their bank to get a bank issued check. That takes all the worry out of getting legitimate payment.

BB_TX = How old was your unit when you sold it. I heard that once they are 10 years old, banks won't give a loan. So the new owner must get his money somewhere else. Is this true?

Sold my 2007 last year, so 14 yrs old. Buyer paid cash (actually I went with them to their bank and got a bank issued check for full amount). Don’t know about financing older models.

True in CA. You can't finance a 10 year old trailer but you can use a line of credit, equity loan etc.

I did some internet searching. Here's some things I came up with. Of course, someone has to be willing to pay these prices, otherwise, it's just a number.
RV Trader:
Used 2007 Keystone Rv Fifth Wheel RV
Montana 2955 RL
# 6785A
$17,995
Used 2009 Keystone Rv Fifth Wheel RV
Montana 2955RL
# 39660
$13,990
Used 2004 Keystone Fifth Wheel RV
MONTANA 2955RL
Make Offer
$13,500
This was just a quick search, and the first one's I fell into.
It also depends upon your geographical area for the price you will finally get.
It also depends upon how fast you want to sell the camper, and how much you want to clear also. Again, just because you post a price on the camper may not be the amount someone else is willing to pay. In the eye of the present owner, items are always more valuable than in the eye of the buyer.

Just as a point of reference, we purchased our 2005 2955RL in February of 22. Asking price for a nearly mint condition FW was $18k. We knew the former owners for years and knew they took very good care of it and stored it in a heated shop all the years they owned it. After researching it on the internet I offered $16k cash and they excepted it. Have no regrets.

Sold our class C on RV trader. Priced it in line with similar listings and it was gone in about two weeks.
