Tear in Roof
We have a 2021 331RL Montana High Country. Had it in shop because we had a cable break in the door side slide, during repair the technician found a 7ft tear on the roof driver side above the bedroom slide. Can’t believe we didn’t know this happened if we hit a tree branch that hard! Anybody else have something like this happen?

Ouch! I've hit branches but never to that extent. I had a staple hole in my TPO once and they had to replace the entire roof. There is an alternative fix. It's called TPO welding.
Apparently TPO is used in commercial roofing. Who knew? My Service Manager is having a repair done to my unit. A way better option then ripping off the entire roof.

I had a very similar tear. Also didn't know it had happened, but I did know where and when. Bought a Roll of Eternabond and sealed the tear, that was a few years ago and still holding with no leaks.

Thats awesome. I imagine flex tape would work as well?

Can't speak about Flex Tape, but Eternabond is made for that type of repairs and once it's stuck you're not going to remove it, and it's not cheap.

The TPO Welding would be interesting if someone in your area does that
EternaBond tape is a permanent repair check youtube for a video. Comes in various widths and lengths. I always carry some with me for that limb hitting or falling on the roof. Also used for coroplastic repair.
I expect a 4" x 10' roll would do your project. Some various colors also available.

I used the 4" tape for a similar repair. Clean the area and use the spray primer made for it.

Or file a claim with your insurance and get your roof replaced. A long tear like that could hurt your resale value, if you ever go to sell it.

If you use eternabond, also put dicor on the tape edges to seal the seam...

If you go with FlexArmor, the tree will suffer more damage than your roof will.

Our state parks here in Indiana have a lot of low hanging branches on the interior roads to the campground and in the campground area. On our last camper (Cougar) I had a similar tear about 16 inches long. I used Eternabond tape to seal it up.
This Montana we just bought is a foot taller than the Cougar so I'll need to be even more careful.

I've used the Tan colored Eternabond tape. It's a fairly close match to the color of the roof material.

I've watched videos of TPO welding. I would have never guessed it's used on commercial roofs.

TPO has been the "go-to" roof membrane for commercial buildings with "flat" or "low-sloped" roofs for the past 15 or so years. They lay it over Polyisocyanurate insulation (poly-iso) and it can be fully-adheared (glued which is better) or mechnanically fastened (cheaper). Typically a 60 mil thick membrane is used but they change to 40 mil sometimes to save money.
My experience is that schools do not use TPO as much, but prefer a "modified-bitumen" built-up roof - because kids get up on school roofs and mischief happens. Modified Bit is more forgiving and self-healing than a TPO membrane.
Before TPO - EPDM and PVC membranes were popular in the 80's and 90's. They are still used.
Prices for TPO and poly-iso have gone nuts in the past year. Supply chain issues cause big problems in the roofing construction process. Earlier this year - delivery for large shipments of poly-iso were 10-12 months from approval. When you need it delivered and the roofing work to start in month #5 - that is a big problem. You can't start interior finish work until the roof is on.
