Those that have gen prep, please tell me what difference (if any) is done to the box’s walls (where the generator sits). I realize the ‘perforated’ bottom of the box comes out, but is there anything additional done to the walls/roof of the box, itself?
Our Montana HC did not come w/gen prep; however, I am in the process of installing my Onan 5500. I have the auto. transfer switch installed, and I’m about ready to sit-in the generator.
I’ve done a search and have read where others lined the box’s walls with a foil-faced rubber mat-type material, with intentions of deadening noise — I don’t feel as though I need to line the box for the sake of noise reduction (but I’m always open to suggestion, as now would def. be the time to do a thing like that).
Finally, with the entire front cargo box/bay being one (open all the way across the front of the trailer), is there any type of partition/wall that’s included w/gen prep (ie: is there some sort of wall between the generator and the 5’er’s battery), or does that typically remain open, all the way across?
TIA
