I saw a herd of between 40 and 50 in the upper part of Michigan a few years back. They are a very large animal, and one I would not want to encounter in a speeding auto!

Any idea where this was? When they bunch up like that in a herd, they are definitely on the move to higher ground but since it is in November, I'm guessing they are heading down the mountain to greener pastures in the valley! Beautiful animals and really smart too!

I think they were going around in a circle behind the vehicle. I have never seen so many Elk. Great Video, thanks for sharing.

I think they know it's not hunting season. Some people say they "bugle" but I heard a couple of them say "NYAHH, NYAHH, nyahh, NYAHH, nyahh, nyahh". Very cool video.

Can you imagine if they were Caribou? I heard their herds can be in the thousands and much much wider. That mom with the camera would have had a lot more to worry about.

Thanks for sharing this.

Colorado Mountains, near Estes is as close as I can come. It was a lady on her way into Estes on a fire road when she came upon a car with it's flashers on. She stopped and one of the young girls in the car had her camera. That is as much as I had in the email with the link.

Edited: I did a search on the name I received, Teresa Binstock, and found this link with a narrative: LINK Search on the word Binstock.
