Goodyear G614 wear/compare

I thought some of you might be interested in these two photos; one of a 6 yr old G614 RST with about 35/40k miles on it holding up a 6.5 ton '06 3400RL & the other of a new tire.

Wow! I remember others noting wear on the 614's...but that seems like a lot. Course, I jumped over these and straight to commercial h's. John

They look like they are wearing pretty darn good.

I am no expert, but I am tending to agree with mlh. I thought the wear was quite reasonable. The horizontal sipes are about gone, but there is a measured 7/32nds of tread left. Oh, and I run them @ 105 PSI cold, monitored by PressurePro.

That's exactly how mine looked, the actual wear is minimal for the 5 years they were on. On our Alaska trip in 2013 my new G614 showed hardly any wear but the truck tires showed that they were on some rough roads, I went through about 2 years of normal driving wear in that 4 months on the Alaska Highway.

No doubt, the G614's are the best tire for heavy trailering hands down.

We had about about that on ours, and they looked good up until the day one blew because I did not keep my vow to myself to replace them at 5 years. Went for 6 1/2 and it was too long and too late!
