Larry - sounds like quite a concept. When taking off or braking do you ever reach the limit of the swing causing it to bang?

Also, how does it react to the up and down motion (porpoising) where the RV wants to pull up on the hitch?

Sorry to ask so many questions - but you've experienced it and I'm afraid the salesman will just say what I want to hear. (really trying to soften the blow on that front frame to eliminate some of the flex issues).

Country guy -

Sounds like it would be worth it for me to wait through the winter to see what Trailair comes out with on the new pinbox.

I just returned from a trip to Maryland. I installed a "Fifth air Borne" air cushion before I went and it was great. I have a manual slider and I am not aware of an air unit for that hitch so I went with the trailer air system. I also used my tripod when we were camped.

No banging when taking off and when you stop, your trailer brakes prevent that. I did hear it one time when a car pulled in front of us unexpectedly and stopped right in front of us, did an emergency stop!!

For pulling up on the hitch, I have used the legs of the rig to lift the truck up, and pulling on the hitch, no problem.

I also had a flex problem before we added the Glide-Ride, and had it repaired at Goshen.

Thanks Larry - off to look at it today. I think you and I are after the same thing - avoid that flex problem.

Thanks Leanord, I'll check that one as well.

Brad,

That hitch really does look nice. If all my Colorado buddies took a collection for me perhaps I could afford it. Do you want to kick in a few hundred, you know, just to get the ball rolling??

It's to bad we can't try both hitches to see what you would really like, but I think they all will help.

Larry -
Man do I know that. It's like wanting to try to tow with all the pickup manufacturers to see how well they perform before you buy. Fortunately this forum provides a good experience data base to make an informed decision (I hate decisions! ).

MAC -
I think we can work something out. We'll all pitch in equal shares for the hitch - but we get equal time using that new Duramax to tow our Montana's! That way I don't need a hitch and I can go get that Honda I always wanted.....NOT. I thought you ordered the 3500 and they only are long beds, or did you get the 2500?

Brad,

Al is mumbling stuff like, "HMMMM, might have to look at that new pin Trailair is talking about."

Anyone want to buy an Isolator?? HA HA HA

Very interesting tidbits we picked up on lately, the Isolator was designed by an ex Trailair engineer. And, then I think he went in on the Fifth Airborn. How bout that??

Brad,

I ordered the 2500 shortbed, I can barely get that in my garage, that and I just prefer the look of a shortbed. Don't lie to me though I know you wouldn't be caught dead driving a Chevy, you're a Ford man.

Now c'mon Mac - I'd sell my Ford and get a Honda if I had part share in you Duramax!! I'd even consider going back to Chevy, except that new 2008 Ford is looking pretty cool.

I can't find Isolater or Fifth Airborne. Anyone have a web link...?

Sorry Carol, didn't mean to start nuthin
