We just bought a used Montana fifth wheel, model 2880, and found this site. In fact we close tomorrow. Our next project is to find a truck to pull it.

Jeanne has been shopping for all the things we think we need for traveling and decorating.

Oh yeah, we joined last night at about midnight, and we are complete novices at this pulling around our home.

We will check in from time to time for advice and friendship.

One last thing, we are from Kissimmee Florida and spend summers in Franklin North Carolina.

Welcome to the MOC Forum. If you are a Newbie, you are in the right place to find help for you new adventure. Many of the posters have years of experience and are ready to help those of us that are just getting started.

I don't hesitate to recommend regular perusing of the forum. The information is valuable. When you are stressed about some RVing issue, you will find helpful and sympathetic support. Every now and then you might find a little sarcastic humor included.

Glad to have you in the Montana family. Their a great bunch of folks.

Welcome Bill & Jeanne to the MOC. Congrats on the 2880. Before selecting a tow vehicle, go to the "Quick Referencing" section at the lower part of the forum home page and select "Montana customer service page". If you don't have an owner's manual, it will give you the specifications on your rig (weights & capacities). Just be sure to select a truck with enough capacity to handle your 5er. Good luck and happy camping !!!

Welcome Bill and Jeanne to the MOC Family.

You came to the right place for advice and friendship.

We MOCers are just full of advice and can't wait for some newbie to come along to ask those questions.

As far as friendship, this forum is just full of friendly people. To prove my point I would like to invite the 2 of you to partake in a little MOC get together. Next week is the 2005 Florida RV SuperShow at the stste fairgrounds in Tampa. On Friday the 14th at 3 PM we plan on a little get together at the Montana booth. This is a great way to finally put some faces to the many names you see here on the forum. At this time we have a list of 14 MOC families planing to attend.

Thanks all and Glenn and Lorraine it will probably not be possible for us to make it to the Tampa Fairgrounds by 3:00 pm. We wouldn't be able to leave Kissimmee until between 1:30 and 2:00 pm so I don't think it would work.

We can't make a confirmed reservation, but if that's ok, we will try.

And thanks for the advice about the specs. I don't know if there is an owners manual, we don't close until tomorrow morning, but I'm going the front page now to look.

I'm not finding the quick referencing section on the home page or here. And advice?

Congratulations, Bill and Jeanne, and welcome aboard! Our first Montana was a 2001 2880RL. We really liked that model. The truck you're considering (per your signature) will do a great job for you. There are a number of folks here with similar trucks. There are other good choices, as well. Good luck and keep us informed.

Jeanne gets the truck tomorrow Steve, so we are past considering. Maybe she will come online and talk about driving it home. It's sure a lot bigger than anything we have ever owned.
