Water Pump Failure

Is it possible for a fairly new water pump in my Montana to go south.? I have a 2021 Montana and the water pump stopped drafting water from the tank after being hooked up to a static water supply The tank is half-full so I’m puzzled. What should I be checking?

You may have sucked in some construction debris into the pump. Do you hear it running? For some reason, they don’t install the screen ahead of the pump, but it would just get clogged too. If you are able, the pump can be taken apart and cleaned, just make sure it goes back together like it came apart. I would also get one of those screens to install if you do that.

Before you do all that, make sure the suction side connection on the pump isn't loose. I found a number of connections, both on the pump and behind the convienence center to be loose up to 1/2 turn on our new rig and the pump running over time could loosen things even further.

Dick is more than likely correct. Any loose connection could be sucking air into the system and would prevent the pump from shutting off. This is the reason why we always use our water tank and pump even if we have city water available. I will know instantly if there is a leak somewhere if the pump continues to run.
