A few years ago we camped for a week about an hour from home. Well actually, Shirley camped and I went back and forth from work.
While packing up for the trip home, we got into a 'discussion'. Not sure what about anymore. Plus it was raining pretty hard. I was not happy.
Our routine is she does the inside and I do the outside. That's worked out pretty well for us. On the way home we cross under a railroad trestle. There's no height sign but I know for a fact that transports travel down that road on a regular basis.
Going under the trestle, suddenly I heard a loud 'TINK'! Tink? What would go tink? That would be the antenna. Antennas go tink and get destroyed when they hit trestles.
That was when I found out that even though the crank for the antenna is on the inside, because the antenna is on the outside, it was my job to make sure it was down. Huh. And all this time I was wrong on who's job it was to lower it.
