Minimum bed clearance?

What would be the minimum clearance between the trailer nose and the bed rails of the TV? I'm thinking about 6". Friend trying to get his nose lowered to a more level position when hooked up but would like to know what the general consensus is from our long time RVers.

6" minimum. More is better if you can get by without being too nose high.
At 6" ours will contact the rear bed rails and top of tailgate in certain situations. At 8" it clears in the same situations but is a little more nose high than I like.

I wouldn't want less than 6". More is better.

Yep, 6" min. I have a little more and ride a little nose high but not bad. I need just a little more due to the angle of the trailer coming out of my driveway. I clear it just fine

Mine is 6” and is level, but I don’t like it. It’s dangerous to have only 6” in the mountains. Mine will come down on my truck bed in many situations, if not watching.

seems like we are all, so far, on the same page with 6" min. I guess it depends on the terrain, but you can't predict what you may encounter down the road...or off the road. Sometimes just a turn in at an uphill angle may cause the bed rail and trailer nose to come into contact with each other and in that case maybe even 8" wouldn't save you.. guessing game.
