X Factor Crossmember
has anyone installed or made their own re-inforcing crossmembers for use between the spring shackles??
I am planning on upgrading to MORryde Heavy Duty shcakles with wet bolts and was wondering if the X Factor Crossmembers would be worth the investment as well...

After reading several threads about damage to the frame and other related parts from twisting the camper at high degrees of turning. I decided to install one on all three suspension points. watch the video and pay particular attention to the shackles moving in and out at around 3.25 minutes surprizing how much the axles and shackles move, XFactors will prevent this and stabilize the camper going down the road.
Did they help? don`t know but they are a simple bolt on install so you can take them off and move them to a new unit so they are kinda a life time investment. When I up graded to the MoRryde SRE 4000 suspension ( this made the biggest difference in keeping things from moving around in the camper when traveling ) they insist you put one on at least the center shackle area for stability. eh, it`s only money and besides it`s for the camper so cost doesn`t enter into it.

I also upgraded to the SRE4000 and installed three X-Factor cross members. The SRE-4000 was a great addition. Mor/Ryde recommends installing the X-Factors on the hangers that support the SRE-4000.

I installed x-factors on our 2008 & 2012 Montanas and was happy with them.

Thank you for your input.. I will now compare the cost of the CRE3000 plus X-Factors to the CRE4000 which comes with one X-Factor in the kit....
This all started because I don't like the dry bolt system with cheap bushings......

I too installed the braces. I fabricated my own, having the means to do them, I was able to build them to fit in one piece. The X-Factor has to be to fit different applications, so its a two piece design, same idea . Did the MorRyde wet bolt kit at the same time.
Haven't had any frame issues, but didn't before, so its hard to tell how effective they are, it was at no cost to me to build them, working in steel fabrication. It was more or less just drops I needed for them. I thought they were a good idea ,so I made three of them.

When Morryde installs IS they weld tubes across in that same area. If I didn't have IS I would for sure have the X factor.

I have one X-factor on the middle and equalizer/CRE3000 bracket. I also have two more to install but the gas line interferes with the front one and the galley drain line is directly in the way of the rear. I can shim the front one out using a 1" steel or aluminum plate to clear the gas line. The rear one will be a major mod to either relocate the drain line or to weld up a 'bypass' to circle that drain. That center one does seem to help though that is a seat of the pants feel.
I guess what I'm saying is that you do need to do a survey of the bottom of your Ry to see if there are any items directly in the wat of easily installing these cross members

I'm thinking its money well spent, that suspension takes a beating , especially when backing up at a steep angle on a hard surface .
Mostly on mine its when I have to back into my RV pad beside my home, I used have to slide my sliding hitch to the rear when backing in to help clear the cab, and it seemed to give me a little quicker turn when backing. Now with the Andersen hitch, same process other then the trailer sits a bit further back, no issues with hitting the cab.

I have a 2007 Montana that had some lippert frame issues,
with the Moreride LRE4000 installed.
center hangar/frame failed. It was repairable
Installed the improved HD wet bolt shackles and complete 3 position x-factor.
Its been 5 years of heavy use with no regrets.

I've decided to upgrade our suspension from the CRE3000 and install the SRE4000. For those of you that have done this yourself, I'm curious if any of you used the Lippert Levelors to raise and support the unit, or if you used jacks/jack-stands as shown in the installation videos? Any tips or words of advice would be appreciated.

I was a very bad boy and used the stabilizers, but don`t you do it cause somebody else did it, jack stands = safe stabilizers = lazy.

Allways use jack stands!! Never trust a jack!
I will crawl under mine while its lifted by the jacks, but only while the wheels are still on it and I'm sure that if the jacks fail the tires will still offer enough clearance to keep me from being hurt.

Finally found the time and weather to complete the upgrade from the CRE3000 to the SRE4000. Overall a relatively easy procedure which took about 4 hours as I did it solo. I utilized the Lippert levelers to lift the RV, and then jack stands to support the unit while working. The X-factor cross member was a bit of a bear working solo, but it finally fit into place. The test drive afterwards was successful and looking forward to getting it back out on the open road! I-81 beat us up last year and I can’t wait to see/feel the difference.
