Question Portable Satellite dish

A question for those of you who put your protable dish on a slide. Ever had the wind blow it off?

I usually set mine on a slide, I've never had a problem. I always try to push it back from the edge

I "acquired" 2 small lead shot bags and droop them over the bottom framework of my Pathway X2 when I have it on a slide top. Seems to work as we've been thru a couple of good wind storms in KS. Boy Howdy, I surely hope that lead doesn't make my kids be born naked%&^#@.

Portable Satellite Dish on Slide

I have never had it blow off but what I do is I fill up a large plastic water or juice bottle and tie it to the Portable Satellite Dish, works good.

We've a new version Tailgater that I usually put on the roof (most times that's the best southern view) and have never had a problem with it.

You don't say what dish antenna you have, but the Pathway X2 instructions specifically say not to use it in winds greater than 35 mph as it will roll. Weighting it like dieselguy does would help with that.

I don't set my Tailgater on a slide, and have never been in overly high winds, but I could see it could topple over during storm winds.

It's a King Tailgater. Short and rounded. It's for the front TV. The Winegard is mounted on the ladder.

Beat me to it Dick, I was going to suggest mounting to a ladder. Not enough outputs from the Winegard? Our Winegard on the roof powers both dishes and the (2) tuners on the DVR.

Between NASCAR and football we may be recording things on multiple satellites so we need two receivers and we didn't mount the King on the ladder so we can move it around if trees are in the way.

What I have done is have one mounted permanent on the camper and a portable one. If the one on the camper don't work drag out the portable one. Hook it up flip the switch, watch TV.

Yup that's what we've doing, except our permanent one is mounted on the ladder with the cable stored in the back bumper.
