Day night shades and clear glass

Hello,

This is probably a stupid question but is there any way to lift up the day shade on the day night shade device. It would be great to look out a clear window at times versus being saddled with looking out the window through the day shade. And if not, what are most people using for shades to get around this challenge?

Thanks

Robert

Maybe we're not talking about the same day/night shades, but on my 3150 I just raise both of them up if I want to look out thru the glass without either shade in place.

I have the day and night shades. I just raise the night shade then do the same with the day shade. But it would help to know the model and year of your rig?

Night shade at top, day shade at bottom...each with its own metal lift bar. Day shade is compressed to half inch or so by the bar of the night shade. Lifting at very bottom in center with one hand or with two hands raises and compresses night shade...open window view. John

Wow, now I feel stupid. Thanks for the response. I can hardly wait to check out my shades next week. When I briefly looked earlier, it seemed like the day shade bars could not be lifted. 2003 Montana 3670RL

Robert don't feel you asked a stupid question because everyone has moments like that especially with our Montana's. The new units have shades that are like those we put in the stick and brick that roll up but the units from time of creation of the Montana in 1999 they have had the day/night shades like yours and even our 2013 unit has the same shades as you do. Enjoy those views out of the windows without the shades to distort the view!

Sometimes the strings that go to the bobbin on the wall are adjusted too tight and make the shade difficult to raise (too loose and the shade won't stay in the up position). Also, most of mine require two hands to synchronously/equally lift both ends of them, otherwise, they get bound up at an angle.

Sometimes the day shade bar will catch on the bottom of the window frame. Just pull it slightly out and it'll go up.

Overlord, I don't see any strings? Our legacy edition 2017 3820FK has the day night shades, and one of the main windows, just drops the night shade all the way out. We can wind it up manually, but it does not retract by itself. The dealer says bring it in a month, and they will fix it, but we are leaving on a 3 week trip in a week, and I don't have time for that. So if there is any advice on how to adjust this, let me know?

Yes we do have the MCD shades, but ours must be broken, because when I wind the black knob on the left side either way, it does not make one bit of difference. So the spring mechanism inside the roller must be loose, and not grabbing to make a difference??
