Will you FORGET?

Please take a moment today at the appropriate times to Remember that 13 years ago today there were Victims and Heroes created because of unthinkable acts of terror against this Great Nation!

It is our duty to those who lost their lives both on that day and since then to keep our Country safe to NEVER FORGET and to do everything possible to NEVER let it happen again!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Les

Totally agree, so easy to forget. We need to remember all of those lost souls. Take that moment.

On our recent trip to New York, we went to the newly opened 9-11 memorial. A very somber and emotional experience.

So very sad that so many paid the ultimate price in a war they didn't even realize they were fighting.

I will never forget. I think that was the angriest I ever was in my life.

I hope and pray our nation never experiences another day like that one....but in the back of my mind I can't help but worry that it will happen again.

The day hit close to home for us I am a retired FAA person and Helen was on duty at Cleveland Air Route traffic Control center that day. She experienced the events close up.

I was living in New York at the time and my husband and sister worked downtown (NYC). I didn't know that day if I would ever see my husband or my sister again. Four of the teachers in my son's Primary school had firefighter husbands who lost their lives. My sister lost a lot of colleagues at Cantor Fitzgerald. She herself had to walk out of NYC over the Brooklyn Bridge. She still has nightmares about that day.

It was the most frightening time in our lives. As an act of defiance we booked a trip and flew down to spend a week at DisneyWorld. (At the time there was a lot of speculation that Disney would be a target.). It may seem silly now, but I bought a pin with Mickey Mouse holding a big American flag and a quote from Walt Disney on it that read, "I thank America... For the right to live and raise my family under the flag of tolerance, democracy and freedom."

I feel blessed every day to be living in this country.

You may not know it but there was a ceremony and speakers in front of the Cheyenne Mountain 9/11 memorial today

as well as at HQ Northern Command (the building next to where I work on Peterson AFB). We are on the front lines of this battle every day. There is a twisted I beam from the world trade center on permanent display in between our buildings. The reminder is ever present. We never forget.
