Norcold Refg ???

2011 Big Sky 3580RL,12cu ft Norcold refrigerator. Refg has been on and running. Wife wanted to clean the inside of the refg and had the doors open cleaning and the open door buzzer went off because the door was open to long. I pushed the off switch so the alarm and lights went off while she cleand the refg. After about a hour when she was done I pushed the on button and the lights came on and the control mode showed AC and the green on light came on, temp setting is still on 7, 9 is the highest setting. I can not hear the refg running, is it on and I just can not hear it? Do I just wait a couple of hours to see if it gets cold or shoud I do something I do not know about?

Frank, These are absorbtion type refrigeraters. You won't hear them run like you do a household frig because there is no compressor. Virtually no moving parts except fans when the area behind the frig gets too hot. Jim

Agree, leaving the door open until warning beeper comes on, does no harm to the frig. If all is well, you should see the temp drop.

Should be just a matter of waiting, but once you warm these up it takes a long time to cool down again.

Seems like I remember at least 4 hours to come back to cold temperatures.
