Operating in cold weather
I was wondering what was the coldest temperature you have operated the slides of a Montana in? I will not have any water issues.
It is supposed to be around zero here tomorrow.

We have operated slides in weather that was 35 below zero. Works like a charm.

12 above zero F...no problem on battery.

4 below, that auto re-setable circuit breaker stopped the action. after it reset the duty was finished.
slides may have moved slower (this was a few years ago, so, hey, you know the disclaimer, memory fades!  )
but, we got the slides in.
more exciting is bringing slides in if they happen to have slide toppers filled with ice! ohhh, yea, that gets your attention.

Like Icehouse, we have operated ours in that -30 range with no problems, they do move slower though, and we do not have slide toppers. I would instinctively be more concerned about slide toppers being damaged in extreme cold, not sure of their limitations.

One of the advantages of the slide hydraulic system is that they use Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) which has a very low pour point. Even at -30F the oil is still viscus which allows the system to operate with proper flow and lubrication. My biggest concern is the front stabilizer jacks when it is cold as I am sure that grease loses its capability to lubricate and can create a certain amount of friction to trip the breaker or blow the fuse. We will wait for the warmer temps to operate any of that gear to try and eliminate any mechanical failures in those sub zero temps.
