120 Volts for laptop
I bought a small inverter from Wal*Mart, wired in a 2x4 box with a switch and a Red indicator light. Mounted over by Sue so she can plug in when we are on the road.
I use it as well to plug my charger in for my tools.
I hooked up a relay, so it will only be energized when the motor is running. The inverter is light, I just hung it under the drivers side
inside the cab.

Cool! What size inverter did you go with?

Scattershot,
I am guessing, it's probably around 300 Watts, sized it to the battery charger and laptop.
It really comes in handy.

Ozz, I use one also, for the laptop which we use with a GPS. Mine sits in that cubbyhole in the front bottom area of the console. I never thought about mounting it under the dash. I'll have to give that some thought, if I can find a place to put it. I already have the airbag compressor switch and gauge under there. And the drivers side glovebox eats up some room. Did you wire direct? I just plug mine in to the power point on the dash by the cup holders. Mine's just 150 watts but it serves to power the laptop and, simultaneously, a charger for an 18v drill battery, when needed.
See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Steve, they are so light, I just wire tied it up under the left drivers side. I have a male 120 Volt plug in the inverter, then wired over to the 2x4 box on the floor. Yes, I ran a heavy set of wires from the battery to it. I go through a set of normally open contacts so it DE-energizes when the motor isn't running.
