What is too early?

All of you that have meet my DH Bill knows how lucky I am so I am not really complaining but..... Now don't laugh or think I am ungrateful but...... Every night before we retire, Bill makes coffee for the morning ....But, he sets the timer to come on at 6:30am Why? The last time we needed to get up at that hour was March 16th when I was still working. Once that aroma hits the bedroom we are up. How do I change the hour without taking a chance on his not making it at all??? Helen

Sneak in there after he goes to sleep and change the timer. LOL

I would just ask him to set it for 730 or even 8ish. Tell Bill you would like to try and camp how Montana Sky does, goes to bed when I am ready and wakes up whenever I want. I do not really look at the clock throughout the day unless I have an appt. scheduled for that day. Otherwise I do not care when I hit the sack or get up in the morning. Come to think of it I do not even know how to set that alarm clock in bedroom. =) BTW Helen, I have been reading your web page on your movement. Sounds like you guys are having a blast, sure wish I was following you with my coach rather than the computer. Stay safe and enjoy the warm weather.

For years my alarm went off at 5:30AM.We have been retired for 6 years and my eyes STILL pop open at 5:30AM, My body clock is shot, My guess is so is Bill's.Might as well have a cup of coffee......then take a nap later..

Helen, try changing the time on the coffee maker clock so that 6:30 is really 8:30. Maybe he won't notice. And, count your blessings.

I know where he's coming from, Helen. If I'm correct, the coffee pot will stay on for two hrs before shutting off. I would do this so that whether I got up at 7 or 9, I would still have coffee READY. Worst mornings are when I forget and have to stumble around making coffee. 2nd worst mornings are when the coffee maker is all set and the it doesn't start (ever find out you got the AM and PM mixed up after a power outage?). When I get up I don't EVEN want to wait 10 min for coffee, or it's a bad start to my day! Sorry... did I spit???

Let me guess, Helen... Bill even gets his cup out of the cupboard the night before and sets right by the coffee pot, right?

i AM THE WORLD'S WORST ABOUT COFFEE. I DON'T WANT TO WAIT FOR IT TO MAKE, SOOOO, I went out and bought a Bunn. It takes about 2 minutes to brew 12 cups. The good thing about it is the water is always hot and when you pour the fresh water in to make the pot, it's almost instant. When the pot is full I pour a cup and wait for Phyllis to get up so that I can cook breakfst. We'll be fulltiming on March 1st. Phyllis will still have to work but we are soo ready for this. we are just tired of stickhouse and upkeep and taxes and NOT BEING ABLE TO TRAVEL AT THE DROP OF A HAT!!!!
By the way the Bunn is a consumer copy of their commercial brewer. I wokred on commercial breweres for some time an this one is good.

Add a secondary timer between the coffee pot and the outlet and change the time there... Since we are not coffee drinkers there is no coffee pot here to set, just alarms for work.

dspirk, 2 minutes, maybe 30 seconds more, depends on how cold the water is. It holds one carafe of water in continued readiness, and when you pour in the cold water, it releases the hot water out through the brew basket. Really makes good, fresh coffee.

Rick, sounds like a good idea. I do like fresh coffee. Maybe I could get the wife to get up...
