Beau is at Rainbow bridge

Many of you knew our dog Beau, he was a gentle giant and about the perfect RV dog. Being a big dog we felt blessed to have had him into his 12th yr. He damaged his rt elbow a couple weeks ago and with the spinal issues and his tripping with his back legs it just got worse so today we had to bid farewell to our dear friend. He will be missed.. I will probably be leaving his picture on our signature for awhile. When the grieving is over I will work on getting it removed..

It certainly takes time to heal the loss of such a great companion. Take comfort in the many memories, knowing you have done the very best for him in his final days.

Dave, I remember Beau at the rally last fall in Goshen. We had to put our red golden to rest 3 weeks ago which was with us at the rally. Might have been the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Take care and stay strong. Know our dear friends are at the bridge waiting for us and that they are happy not to be in pain any more. Take care

Exnavydiver, Sorry to hear about your loss and there are no words to ease your pain. I didn't know your devoted pet but in losing our own pets lets us know your sadness so our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family.

sorry for your loss. we just lost our two labs this past year. one in november to cancer and the other in december to major hip issues and i think a broken heart for her companion. we feel for you. The DW ended up getting a puppy black lab within a few weeks and turns out to be the best thing we did. we still miss our puppies and also will. they were the best camping dogs and buddies.

I remember him well. As Will Rogers said (and I'm paraphrasing here): When I die, if dogs don't go to heaven, I want to go where they went.

Dave and Betsy, so sorry for your loss. He was a helluva dog with a huge personality. You were certainly lucky for having him 12 years and we were lucky you shared him with all of us. Jim & Linda

Dave & Betsy, Denny & I are so very sorry for your loss. Beau will be greatly missed. As long as you have your memories of him he will always be with you both. Sending prayers for you both for comfort & peace.

A Loan From God

God promised at the birth of time, A special friend to give, His time on earth is short, he said, So love him while he lives.

It may be six or seven years, Or twelve or then sixteen, But will you, till I call him back, Take care of him for me?

A wagging tail and cold wet nose, And silken velvet ears, A heart as big as all outdoors, To love you through the years.

His puppy ways will gladden you, And antics bring a smile, As guardian or friend he will, Be loyal all the while.

He'll bring his charms to grace your life, And though his stay be brief, When he's gone the memories, Are solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, Since all from earth return, But lessons only a dog can teach, I want you each to learn.

Whatever love you give to him, Returns in triple measure, Follow his lead and gain a life, Brim full of simple pleasure.

Enjoy each day as it comes, Allow your heart to guide, Be loyal and steadfast in love, As the dog there by your side.

Now will you give him all your love, Nor think the labor vain, Nor hate me when I come to call, To take him back again?

I fancy each of us would say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done, For all the joy this dog shall bring, The risk of grief we'll run.

"We'll shelter him with tenderness, We'll love him while we may, And for the happiness we've known, Forever grateful stay.

"But shall the angels call for him, Much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, And try to understand."

Our loving companions are truly gifts and their time with us is always too short. The price for their stay is paid one day but I will always gladly go through that pain for the great joy, warmth and laughter they brought into my life.
Sorry you had to part with such a loving dog. You were very lucky to have him in your life.

Dave: So sorry for your loss. I know Beau meant the world to you. You probably do not remember us but our dog Gus (Golden Retriever) loved to play with Beau during the Montana Rally about four years ago. When we lost our last Golden, I told my wife, no more dogs. Well two weeks later I could not stand not having a dog and we found Gus.
