Everything is dirty?
Just when I thought I'd seen it all? The man in his class "C" next to our rig, went about his sewer disconnect ritual. In a short period of time, all of my "germaphobic" concerns come true before my eyes.
First he did not use gloves. Now,I have seen it done that way with no visible contamination. This gent in contrast, demonstrated little concern for himself or the area around him. Disconnecting at the source required him to get on hands and knees. He failed to allow sewer hose to fully drain before disconnecting at RV, allowing it and copious amounts of visible material, to spill everywhere, eventually reaching both knees! Before completing sewer disconnect from Park Sewer, he and his wet hands proceeded to disconnect from other RV services contaminating each and every connection. Before unhooking fresh water hose, he removed the business end at his RV, and began cramming it down his sewer hose before turning on the fresh water one last time! I will spare you the rest. While having been mocked, for treating every park connection, as if covered with crap, (donning gloves as well as spraying with bleach), I saw my nightmares come true!
He never washed his hands before touching everything, including shacking hands with friends before driving away. I admit, having witnessed equally bad behavior by others, this guy took the prize. Lest I forget, he, stowed the wet sewer hose by craning it in a basement storage area along with other items! I remain sick to my stomach! Excuse typos, still ill!

Oh, I feel your pain. Last year our neighbor left his black tank and grey tank open the entire time he camped. Unhooking, he closes black and grey tank, unhook water hose and jambed it almost all the way down the sewer hose to clean it out. Next, he coils up the water hose and puts it away...no cleaning, nothing. I had to walk away.

I'm sure many of us have seen something similar. I'm glad I wasn't eating while I was reading this.
I'd be keeping my hands in my pockets if I was inclined to say hello/goodbye to this guy. Also would not dine at or drink at his casa. Ugh!!
We, like Artemus, ensure and maintain high sanitation standards at and around our RV. We have yet to be criticized for this behavior. We are all creatures of the creator, some just have different approaches to life.

Last year when we were in Elkhart before the Rally, my brother-in-law camped next to us with his new camper. We were eating breakfast outside when a group of Class A's were packing up and leaving. They showed him everything not to do. All the above mentioned, plus a guy who didn't fully drain his hose and then tossed it in his storage bin, but the absolute gross deal of the day was when they let a collie out to do business just before they left and after they were all unhooked. The dog lifted his leg and went right on the water faucet. Every since we have been meticulous about using clorox wipes on the faucet before we hook up.

A few years ago several of us who make products for shooters were setting around at a shooting match laughing about all the stupid stuff we had seen people do and thought it would be a good idea to wright a book and title it You Ain't Going to Believe This. We might get together and to one titled You Can't Make This Stuff Up. Maybe Artemus will publish it for us.

DQ, you quoted something like this a couple years ago and ever since then, I have been wiping off the water spigot with clorox wipes as well. Great info...thanks!

Lol I really think some people would not believe a book, we all could write from real experience! I sat and watched this guy, thought I would be sick. PS to story, his buddy was still getting unhooked after he left. I watch this guy, put on gloves etc. I went over and told him what I saw, he was mortified. I explained after seeing how careful he was acting, I felt he needed to know about his buddy. He told me he never watched him before, but by God he is getting a lecture soon. I said ,I am sure he is a great guy, just don't invite him to the Pot Luck! Lol

That guy probably makes numerous folks sick every day. He will leave that CG and down the road he will stop at a rest area and touch their doors, stop for fuel later and touch their fuel pump handles and doors on the building......it just goes on and on. He will stop at a grocery store after setting up at the next CG (where he gets more fecal matter on his already dirty hands)and touch their doors and numerous cans and items on the shelf that other will later touch. You can't wear gloves 24/7 but a lot can be said for using wipes after coming out of a public facility.
