Opening pictures from Boyce Thompson Arboretum.

Here are some starter pictures from our winter home. The first three pictures are what we see out our big slide windows. Took three pictures on wide angle to capture it all. Second two were of Joyce when we were on top of the lower ridge shown in the first picture. The Monty can just be made out on the far left with the other rigs in one of the shots. Ours is facing the ridge and you can see the big slide out. This is a really cool place for a day trip, if you're out this way stop in! Here's the link to the pictures:

Dick, we went there 2 years ago and thought it was a great place, and are going again sometimes this winter as we will be in Gold Canyon again, just a short drive away, and will make sure to stop by and say hello.

We stayed a couple of months just south of Tucson two years ago and hiked much of the surrounding country. Your pictures bring back memories and it is breathtaking. If possible, we hope to return. Have a great winter stay

Very nice Dick, enjoy yourselves and the weather. We'll mail you a bottle of snow later this winter so you don't get too home sick & spoiled!

Looking forward to meeting the Gold Canyon folks! And Scott, thanks for the offer but I grew up on the South Side of Chicago so I've had all the snow over the years that I need.

Dick, I was raised on the South side of Chicago also, 111th & Harlam Ave. Village of Worth. Anywhere close to you?

Kind of the other side. I grew up in the Hessville (on the edge with East Chicago and Gary) area of Hammond, Ind. Most people don't know where that is so I just say South Chicago. It's funny, Tiara mechanics were surprised that we had rekeyed our basement until I told them where I was from. They knew Hammond and the stories came out. The best was the guy who stopped to get gas at a convenience store and several youths were hanging around watching. As he started to get out of his car a cop drove up and told him that if he got out to get gas the youths would rob him and probably car jack him. The mechanic asked the cop if he would stay while he got gas and the cop said no and drove away. Needless to say the mechanic almost beat the cop off the lot.

hi Dick,
We are a 6 month owner of a 2013 3402. We will be in Apache Junction Dec-Apr. We have been to BTA many times. I have also climbed Picket Post. Do it if you get a chance. Will look you up sometime this winter.

We actually climbed the small ridge between BTA and Picket Post. I have after market parts in one knee and need them in the other so Picket Post is a little out of my league. Look forward to seeing you out here. Rondo emailed that it snowed there yesterday. Was 80 here and warmer in the valley.

hey, that was a quick response.
I too have "after market parts" in my left knee. I think Picket Post was my last climb with good knees.
What are you doing at BTA for a job?

We have Sunday and Monday off. From Tuesday thru Saturday we conduct tours. If children are coming in on school tours we do that from Tuesday thru Friday. On Saturday, and after the first of the year on any weekday there isn't a school group scheduled, we do the general tour of the whole facility that leaves the Visitor Center at 11am.
