Whistling shower

I've had my 09 in twice for warranty work and both times told them the shower has a whistling noise when you use it. The 1st time they couldn't hear it , and the 2nd time they could hear it but "They all have it". I'm half deaf and have no trouble hearing it!!! Does anyone else have this problem??

Mine does to, I just increase the water flow a bit and it quits.

This is typically a water pressure problem and ours does not have the problem. It's possible that at the RV service has better pressure which is why they don't notice it as much, but the problem can be a kinked plastic pipe, fitting, nozzle, etc. (I had one on a prior rig). Some aren't bothered by it as much as others. The whistle would drive me nuts.

At least it is localized at the shower. You can start with the hoses and plumbing associated with the shower lines. Good luck muzzling that whine.

Dealers that say "they all have it" drive me nuts, too. I take that kind of response as "trying to find the problem will take more work than I think you are worth" and just makes me want to grab a bat. Is this the same dealer you bought the rig from? If so, have him take you to several rigs on the lot, hook up a hose and see if they whistle. Bottom line, I think it's something with your rig's shower plumbing.

I hope there are some plumbers out there with better debugging ideas.

As for simonsrf, I'm sure he uses "Moon River" as a timer for his shower.

I changed my shower head to the Oxygenics shower head, high pressure low water usage, and thats not how its spelled, and mine stopped whistling.

But now I get opera?????????? the two tenners "Hot and Cold".

On Edit= "Oxygenics shower head" with proper spelling through copy and paste.

Oxygenic - the way to go.

If you decide to keep yours, try teaching it a medley. it will not be so boring.

Mine would whistle every once in a while. I just shut the shower head off and back on and it stops. I've never been able to reconize the tune though (sorry)

The oxygenics gives you loads of pressure with less water flow. I beleive it uses a "venturi" effect to boost the pressure coming from the shower head. I did add a shut off to the line just below the shower head so I can shut the flow on and off to save water when boondocking. I bought the shower head at Camping World and the shut off at Lowes.

I did almost the same but I put the shut off where the hose connects to the shower valve, it's a simlpe slide type valve. you will also have better control of the hot water/cold water mix. the only down side to the shower head is it is heavy and it will sag and fall out of its holder when you travel, we always put it on the shower floor, I dont need that braking the PVC shower liner if it falls.

Tom, Ditto to everything everyone else said. If you don't have one yet, go get one...your MOC friends are telling it to you straight. This shower head is wonderful, and with the shut-off valve.....

BTW, you aren't hijacking, we're just saying there is no whistling with the Oxygenics shower head.

Thanks for the info. Actually, I wasn't as interested in it for the trailer as I am for the stick house. My wife bought one of those 'low usage' shower heads a couple years ago and I never did like it. Still, if I like it there, I know the trailer will get one too!

Well I ordered it today from Amazon (I love free shipping!). We'll see how it goes - or should I say how it flows?
