Thanks for the tip, Grant.

Steve, Glen was just asking me today how you liked your new GPS unit. Now we know. Thanks for that detailed description. It sounds like it is the unit we would buy if we were looking for vehicle navigation.

We just used Street Atlas to get us around Seal Beach, Los Angeles, Huntingdon Beach, and a few Beaches we hadn't even heard about. We would have been lost without it....literally. It directed us right to a really great Mexican restaurant....assisted by our noses!

UPDATE: We have decided that our GPS ("Miss Mary") has a definite southern accent, especially when telling us to take "South Carolina 17." We can't wait to find out if she has a "regional" accent or what!

Vicki

You should hear ours pronouncing Nacogdoches or Presa. She is definitely not from Texas! LOL

We have ordered the Garmin 60CSX which is a handheld unit that has gotten very good reviews and been recommended to us by friends. It can be used in the car and on a hike so we hope that it is what we want. One thing I don't want is to have to learn all about a new electronic toy but I guess that's inevitable. We'll let you know how it works out for us. Thanks for everyone's help.
