Help! I’m camping in state park and my water pump isn’t working

Hey guys. First time I’ve used my fresh water tank and pump. The pump doesn’t seem to be pressurizing the lines. It’s running non stop and when I turn on a faucet they just spit like air in them? Is there anything special I need to do besides turning on the pump?

Open up a faucet. Then it should pick up the water if it isn’t sucking air because there is a hole in the line. It would rather pump air than water. Air is much lighter than water.

Sounds like you're getting air in the lines. My new rig did this also. If that is what it is, you have to take the wall off in the basement behind the convenience center and tighten the connections on the suction side of the pump. I had to do it twice because when I found the first one I thought I had it fixed, but there were actually three that were loose just enough to let air in.

As mlh is alluding to it takes some time before the pump gains its' prime. Turning on the faucet with the pump running is the key to getting the air out and the water into the lines. Check outside and make sure you are not pum,ping the water on the ground. This will happen if the low point drain valves are not closed. Good luck!

Also check that Winterization hose, if the cap isn't on tight, very tight, the pump will suck air and not prime.

In the Convenience Center, ensure the "Winterize" valve is in the "Off" position. The wall diagram (at least on my 2012 ) shows the normal position to be "On". That's true if winterizing, but for normal water pump functions.

Don't ask me how I know this.

Thank you all! I tried everything you mentioned and Carl and Susan were right. It was In winterize mode. This forum is just awesome. Saved my weekend , the DW was ready to go home!
