Progressive EMS-HW50C in 3710FL

Has anyone installed a hardwired Progressive EMS-HW50C in a 3710FL? I'm trying to figure out the best place. Right now I'm thinking I might cut in an access door in the bathroom to get behind the power distribution center (the DW will LOVE this!). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Don't have that model, but if mine was any indication, you may not need to cut any holes out. Just remove the distribution/converter panel, as there will probably be quite a bit of room behind it to install your unit.

Have the panel removed from the wall and the Progressive unit wired to one end. I purchased a five foot piece of the same cable used in the trailer from Lowes, so didn't have to cut the trailer cable.

I mounted the box to the outer wall where the light is shining

I then mounted the remote display to the right of the panel, so only had to cut a very small hole to bring the cable through the wall

Another good thing to do while the power is off and you have all your tools out, is tighten all the 120 volt and 12 volt connections in the panel before turning the power back on. I didn't disconnect the 12 volt power, but that is your choice, just depends on your comfort level.

pull out your power panel. there is a lot of space below it to mount one and the feed line is right there

Thumbs up

OK, perfect, thanks everyone. I didn’t realize there would be enough slack in the wiring to pull the panel far enough out.The panel is located in the wall partition right in front of the rear entry door and I’m still expecting a bit of a rat’s nest when I open it up because it seems like a small space to me.But it definitely sounds a lot easier to pull the panel, thanks again for the advice. It’ll take me a couple of weeks to get at the job but will update you when I do.
