Shoreline Reel

Recently we lost all power to our 2014 Big Sky Montana. Nada nothing would come on or work. I checked at park pole connection - all ok. I checked at RV power panel - 247V phase to phase (Black to Red), 122V phase to ground and 0V phase to neutral (??). I first suspected it was the converter but later found it was the Shoreline Reel for rolling up the 50A cord. Inside the reel compartment, the neutral wire had burnt in to. I suspect this connection has been loose from the factory and just finally got hot enough to burn through.

About a year after buying ours new, I was in the breaker panel for some no longer remembered reason. I happen to check a connection and found the screw not very tight. Checked all the other screws, hot, neutral, ground, 12v, and found around half that were not properly tightened. Good idea to check all wiring connections. Loose connections can easily over heat.

Jeff,
What end of the shoreline...plug or at the reel? I have the same rig...no problems yet.

It was the RV cable connection inside the reel. The park connection was good.
