Thermostatic Switch for Norcold 1210

Does anyone know where this switch is located?

My fans are nor working and when I did research on it the manual I found on line said it was located on the condenser coil at the top of the fridge. There is nothing there except a wire that is not plugged into anything. Any ideas?

The fan switch is a little round button with two small ears on the upper most cooling fins on the upper RH side. You'll see two wires ... one going in ... one coming out. It is just a little bimetal "clicker switch". I've never seen one fall off as there are two small sheet metal screws holding it on to the fin. Trace the wire from the fans as it may be laying behind the coils somewhere with the clicker switch still on it. If so just plug the wire back in and screw it back on to the top cooling fin. (NOT THE COOLING TUBE)
It will look something like this.

Did you purchase Montana new? If so maybe they forgot to install fans. If not maybe previous owner removed.

Lenny this is a picture taken from the top opening of my Norcold 4 door 1200 series fridge, since your RV is a 3400 and mine a 3400RL I would think they should be the same.

The switch is held on with two screws and although I did not have to replace mine I did note it is not easy to get at. There definitely are two wires going to it, the 12V to power the fans goes through this switch if it is operating correctly.

The top opening in my unit is partially closed in with a piece of aluminum which makes it difficult to see and access the area where the fans are located but assume it is there to help with the airflow.

I cannot explain why yours may not be there except to say the way some of these things are put together it may have not been fastened properly and has fallen down and come disconnected from the wire you can see. A mirror helps to see down from the top.

Thanks for the responses. As in the picture sent by Ed, the screw holes are there but no switch only one wire that would hook up to the switch.
Does the other wire from the switch go back directly to the fans?
Kansas I don't see anything loose in the back, neither a wire or a switch.
I did buy the trailer used so maybe some work was done on the fridge by the pervious owner. He only owned it for 8 months and we've had it for 2 years.

Ed's photo is accurate. Remove the top plastic vent cover and look down. If you have fans, they will be several inches below the vent opening screwed to the framework on the back of your fridge. One or Two 90mm 6 or 8 bladed fans. Yes, if the fans are there and the switch is still attached to the wire, simply screw it back to the existing holes on the fin and plug in the wire.

If you can locate the other wire coming from the fans one could hot wire the two together to run constantly until you find the proper thermo switch shown in the above pic.

Found both wires. The wire that was laying in top was attached to the fans. The second wire had slipped down into the loom and pulled it out from the bottom. The switch must of been removed by someone.
Went to RV Lifestyles here in Quartzsite and picked up a switch for $15.99. Now we have the fans working.
Thanks everyone for your time in answering and taking pictures.
What a great forum!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the fans will help with the terrible smell that is coming from the inside of the fridge from the bottom left corner which corresponds with the heater flue in the back.
