Water leak?

Hello all. I washed the trailer (2012 3402RL) a couple of weeks ago (roof and all) and since then we have had a couple of good rains. It is sitting on my property with the slides in waiting to be used this weekend for the first trip of the year. I went out there yesterday to change the batteries in the smoke and CO2 detectors. I notice a wet spot on the carpet (about 1 foot in diameter) just inside the bedroom right under the inside aft corner of the bedroom slide. I felt the carpet on the slide and it was also wet and I guess it is dripping down the 4 to 5 inches to the carpet on the floor. I checked the top of the slide from inside and checked the ceiling of the trailer and there was no evidence of any recent water (recent or otherwise). I am assuming it is coming in around the bedroom slide somehow. I will open it up and dry things out when I get home today now that we have some warmer/dryer weather, but I am a bit concerned as you might guess. I have the level up system down and the trailer is nice and level. I can't figure out how water could get to that inside aft corner or the slide while it is in. Any ideas? Thanks, Glenn

Glenn, if you run your slide out and all your seals look good, you may want to climb up on the roof and check the TV antenna. On our 3400 there was a rubber boot that came up through the roof which housed the cable. That boot had pulled up slightly allowing water to start entering the roof. The water came out at the top of my bedroom slide and not the ceiling inside the trailer. Just something to check if you don't find anything suspicious around the slide.

Thanks JandC, I know of the boot you are talking about and will check that after work today. Now that I think about it, when the slide is in I believe the top of the slide is right under the TV antenna handle. I hope that is it, that would be an easy fix. I might have hit/dislodged that boot when I was up scrubbing the roof with Dawn and a long handled brush. -Glenn

Is the floor of the closet wet? Here is what I found in ours. You have to look closely for the void in the Eternabond tape.

Thanks Kevin, that is something to check. The floor of the closet felt a little damp (but is was pretty chilly in there and kind of hard to tell if it was wet or just cold). The carpet on the outside of that closet right at the bottom corner of the slide was definately wet. -Glenn

I'd suggest a look at the wide moulding across the bottom of the outside of the slide. If the silicon is separated it is likely your culprit.
