awning lights

I would really love to put a string of lights on my awning. We saw clips to string the lights on that go in the slot where the pull down strap is. My concern is if you have to take the awning down in a hurry. Is there any way to put up lights that would be quick and easy to put up and take down? Or do we have to go with the clips and take them out each and every time we break camp? thanks...Joanie

We use some fabric straps with velcro. They also slide into the slot on the awning roller and hang down. You make a loop in the strap using the velcro to hang the lights. When you take the lights off, just pull the velcro, let the strap hang, and roll them up in the awning.
Bought mine at an RV store. I think I remember seeing them at Camping World.

There many different kinds out there. I have ones that a rubber piece that slides into the for mention slot and have a S hook that hooks onto it. You could just take the hooks out and roll up the awning. I take mind all the way out when stored, so not to leave an impreshion on the awning. There are some that clip to the fringe of the awning. But search camping worlds catalog or other RV suppy retailers. I am sure you will find some thing to your liking

the ones I use are the nilon web green colored ones from CW they allow you to take down the lights and roll up the awning without having to take them off.

There are also some that are like litle plastic "clothes pins" that clip onto the fabric "scallops" - very quick to remove, leaving the clips on the lights.
