Norcold settlement?

Apparently there is going to be a settlement to the class action suit against Norcold over the 1200 series refrigerators (referred to by some as the side fireplace) manufactured before 2012. Go here to file a claim: https://www.norcoldclassaction.com/D...ts/NER_POC.pdf

I just figured out that we have the N8 series, also included in the class action. You can file the claim online, all you need is the serial number of the fridge.

Wonder how many of the issues were caused by improper installs? Mine sure works tons better since I redid vent baffles per norcold install instructions. John

Hello All. We have a 2016 Montana 3790RD Legacy Edition. It has a 2118 Norcold 4 door stainless steel refrigerator. On receiving we noticed that the left hand door was scraping on the white plastic bottom. While we waited for the replacement door we noticed that milk was only lasting 2-3 days and vegetables not much more. After we got home from our trip we had the left door replaced and the right door adjusted so it closed tighter. Still having problems I inserted 2 indoor outdoor thermometer units and found that the top shelf was about 46 degrees. Dealer said that was ok. After alot of searching and checking we found that on the new left hand door the black plastic moveable jamb was not fully to a 90 degree angle to the door that it is supposed to be. I pulled the plastic to a complete 90 as it should do on its own and checked temp again Top shelf was 35 to 39 which is ok and bottom shelf is 45-46 which it not ok. Of course the dealer tech said 46 is ok. I have heard about inside fridge fans that will help circulate the air inside the fridge possibly battery operated rather than something that has to be wired
. Has anyone had and experience with this and where would I get one . Many Thanks from Canada

Let me tell you first hand that fire hazard is real and will scare the hell out of you when it happens. Been living the nightmare since new years day. Screwed by Nationwide Insurance aka allied insurance co.and norcold. Very lucky the good Lord was watching out for us at best our dogs could have died at worst we could have been killed.

That's why I have an automatic extinguisher in the back of the fridge.

I installed a wired fan in our 1210, but this is a link to a battery operated fan, which is probably available at most RV dealers. I did purchase from this site, and the price was good and delivery was quick.

This is why we have a residential frig now....no worries any more. Our friends NOcold just crapped the bed and they opted to go residential as their extended warranty compay would not cover a new RV frig.

We met a couple whIle in Alaska whose brand new Class A almost burned to the ground when their NOcold caught fire....they were lucky and we're home when it happened and were able to extinguish it with minimal damage.

Both Dometic and Norcold know they have an issue and still maintain th e head in the sand attitude.

If you have a Norcold covered by the class action lawsuit the 26th is the last day you can file a claim.

True. You need to hurry if you intend to join the class action suit.

I have had two of the frig's. Have filed claims on both, online. Takes only a few minutes and yes, it asks for a serial number, but you can file with out it.

I have the serial for one of them, but not for the other. Both claims seemed to go thru and I got a e mail saying they had been filed.

I had 2 claim forms with claim numbers that were different.
