20amp to 50amp pig tail

I have seen one and would like to make one for my 2000 Honda generator. This way the fifty foot shore tie can stay in the truck when boondocking

I bought the 5 feet of four wire/two hot(black/Red)- one white - and a ground
also bought a 20 amp plug and a 50 amp male twist plug.

Not being and electrician i want to make sure i wire it correctly. what I recall was on the 20 amp plug i will wire the hots together white and ground as normal, then on my 50 amp plug i will all separate red, and black hot green ground and white neutral.

so can anyone please verify this for me or sent me strait

Your wire landing scheme is in order, however I hope you meant you got a 50amp female twist lock connector not a 50amp male twist lock plug. Male plugs are hard to plug into each other.(Pun intended)
