Another suggestion for you
A/C. We like it, we need it, we like to have plenty of it.
Noise. That we don’t like. Many of us are at the age where any background noise reeks havoc with any type of communication, we like to read, watch the TV, speak to others in the RV, these are simple things that please us.
I don’t have A decibel meter, but I don’t need one to tell you that the noise from a 15,000 BTU RV A/C unit 6’ from my head running on high is too damn loud. The bedroom.. 2’ away. Even the smaller units are entirely too noisy.
There are other ways, ducted system mounted under the unit, mini-split systems with multiple evaporators, hybrid systems with the condenser mounted outside, (not on the roof) These systems would cause re-design, service and cost additions to your ‘cookie-cutter’ building and servicing systems already in place, so they may be too costly.
Simple solution:
For a the two A/C unit trailers, mount the thermostat in the bedroom that controls the living room location unit, have the ducting run to the bedroom with enough vents to cool it, and not freeze the unit up.
Maybe a single unit could be mounted mid-trailer.
Have the bedroom area unit ducted to the living room, thermostat in the living room. Same duct and damper sizing so as to not freeze the unit up.
You would have dampers and vent controls to balance the airflow.
Noise would be away from where we are spending the twilight years of our lives. Peacefully…..
I would do it before the competition does it if it were me.

Not that I am arguing with ya Ozz, but, if you think yours is noisy, come stay awhile in our 3295. SIGHHH Yours is quiet when compared.

What I like about this Ozz post is it isn't costing me any money. His usual post, while quite good, end up costing me $$$ since I have a weakness for SH ideas that make my life easier and more comfortable. Sue may back this comment up, I think he's very creative and really good at spending money on his creativity. Just some random thoughts from the banks of the Snake River about one of my favorite people on the MOC.

Every time you note a location, I 'Goggle it' for ideas on our next leg of travel.

Nope Ozz, not making any more noise than normal, but, we have an older unit, believe me, it is a bunch more noisy than what you have. Ditto on the furnace.

like the above message says, you can include the furnance too. mine is nosier than my 2000 terry. and as for the A/C units, i'd love to have them quieter and be able to shut totally off when they reach the proper temp..... mine just shuts of the compressor and the unit keeps running forever.

Eddie, set the thermostat to 'Auto' the fan will shut off when the thermostat cycles the A/C compressor off.
I will post a thread on an electric heater that will fill the role of the furnace...as long as it is not around freezing....

Ditto what Ozz said. And don't the newer rigs with the front a/c prep have ductwork provided so the front ac is ducted? And dual zone thermostat in the living area that controls each of those ac units separately? Jim, ours is about the same age as yours and our front a/c is not ducted. I wish it were.

Actually, our front unit is. That is why I installed dampers, so I could zone the front unit

what about moving the a/c unit to the basement all together? I believe the Alfa 5th wheels awhile back did this and the interior was almost too quiet from what I can recall...
