Are ads trying to creep in?
I noticed once or twice that when preparing and making a post, in my signature I saw an automatic link appear such as from “F-350.” It will become a link to an advertisement. I hope this isn’t something that is going to be taking place on this forum when making a post.
I also seen this in someone else’s signature as well.
Does anyone know why I seen this?
Has anyone else noticed it?

I think that only happens to the forum members who choose to respond to threads dealing with truck manufacturer preferences, and whether three-quarter ton pickup trucks are sufficient as Monty haulers. Fess up Bill, I know you were posting on one of those!!!!

Maybe it has to do with the power of a “Ford” .

Bill-n-Donna,
You are the first person to report such a sighting. The MOC does not use Advertisements.
I have not seen anything like what you are describing. If you or anyone else sees such a thing please report it to one of the MODs or Admins.
Please make a note of when and where you see such a thing. If you can, make a copy of the event and send it to one of the MODs or Admins.
Thank you for the information.

Have you run an anti-adware/spyware program to make sure you haven't picked up something?

Congratulations! You are likely the proud owner of a spyware/malware/adware piece of software. Time to download one of the various fixer-upper tools if you don't have one already. There used to be a fairly good free one called Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware available at www.malwarebytes.org
.

I believe you guys are right. I think it’s been something on my computer. Today I found 61 tracking cookies using a newly installed up-dated security program. No viruses were detected just the cookies. Hopefully that will take care of things for a while.

I downloaded the malwarebytes and ran it. It also found things. I will watch and hope that between the two it took care of everything.
Thanks for the link!

In my experience Spybot Search & Destroy is more effective than Malwarebytes. Just last week I ran S&D on a computer that had just run Malwarebytes run on it. S&D found 18 additional 'malicious' programs. It's free and will not try to sell you anything.
