Winterize Ice Maker Residential Refrigerator

After much research found the proper way to winterize the ice maker on our Samsung residental refrigerator.

After winterizing the kitchen sink water lines the ice maker water feed is opened to flow water to the ice maker (it is a small tee with a valve in the cold water line). With the refrigerator powered up, open the freezer door and cycle the ice maker by pushing the recycle button on the center of the front bottom edge of the ice maker. It is a small button and hold it down until the tray starts to dump. It will retract and refill with water/antifreeze (not a fast process).

This recycle and dump process will need to be repeated multiple times (8-10) until you get a full and rich antifreeze fill.

End the process by closing the feed valve, cycling the ice maker one more time to empty the antifreeze and making sure the refrigerator is fully off (I open the breaker feeding the refrigerator).
