Remote control for slides

Have a new 3400RL and cannot get the remote control to work. Does anyone know how to program it?

I believe the instructions are written on the control box in the front compartment where the fuses are. It's pretty simple but I don't recall the exact sequence of buttons to re-program.

I have a 3150RL and the instructions for mine were on the back of the remote and in the manual that came with the RV.

Are you pushing the bottom center button and then the one above it to turn it on first?

As an aside, we have never used the remote to deploy the slides as Kat always listens and looks for any abnormalities while pushing the switch inside the 5er. I do use all of the other functions of the remote, though.

I agree with you Michael. I ALWAYS do the slides inside while he checks outside. He also uses the remote for all other functions.

Hers is a link to the manufacturer's instructions for operation and programing of the remote system: http://www.lci1.com/LIP/0113.pdf
You might also want to carry a couple of extra batteries for the handheld remote....it seems to eat through them pretty quickly.

We simply do not trust that little remote. DW operates the inside switch and watches for no obstructions inside and I normally do the walk around when they go in or out. Never had any problems with this process in 1 1/2 years of a high frequency of operation.

My instructions are located same as above ... I too had reservations about deploying the slides with the remote at first but .... after using it a few times I think it's a valued addition to the new Montanas. I always move the slides out a little while standing inside to be sure nothing has opened and is in the way of movement, then I go out and fully extend them while I watch for clearance issues.

DW uses the remote to put the slides out from the inside so that she can walk around to make sure thing are not in the way

If you go to the Lippert Components Inc. Web site and go to publication sheets # 0113 you will find the information you are looking for. Good luck.

We generally only use the remote for putting the slides out. Using the remote allows you to look for obstructions as you operate the slides which you can't do from the control centre switch. I will also finish off the last few inches of the stabilisers with the remote but everything else I use the buttons as the batteries don't last in the remote if you are using it every day.

OK, I have wrestled with trying to change the batteries in the little sucker, without success. Cannot get it open. Is there a secret, or do I just get someone stronger to use brute force?

Biscotty,
There are 2 screws that hold the remote together....one of them is in the center under the instruction label on the back. Good luck.

Jack,

Thanks. I never, never would have figured that out. What a strange place to hide the second screw.

Talking Lost Remote ??

We found out the hard way that going thru Keystone cost us some Bucks. After looking at the new remote ($80.00) from Keystone dealer, I called the MFG. (Found the website doing a search) talking to the factory rep. found that you can buy the remotes direct from them, for $20.00 each and that 2 of them can be programed at the same time. The MFG. is Gama inc. their website is www.gamainc.com ...They even send you re-programing instructions
