Phil and Cathy,
Congratulations on a great looking dog. She appears to know she "belongs" exactly where she is! You guys have done a good thing. Enjoy your new companion.

Phil and Cathy,
Congratulations on your new family member. She's adorable.
Now you will have to look for CG's with fenced in doggie runs.

We travel with large dogs. Finding CG's that can accomodate dogs is not hard. The wost one for the kids so far was Circus Circus in Las Vegas. For the most part dogs are allowed to be walked freely on a leash and get the potty bags to clean up behind her. Most of the time you can find areas off to the side to let her run. Teaching her to be "Polite" is important. Lexus thinks she is the official greeter and does not understand that not everyone likes her. And it has been hard teaching her to wait till she is motioned to come. Going online to view a campground helps a lot anso can view their dog policy.

I have only been doing this for 18 mos (RVing that is), but I have yet to stay in a park that did not allow pets. I will admit that a few had some ridiculous rules, like having to DRIVE your pet to the dog walk area instead of letting it walk. I can understand their reasoning but let's get real. Would not stay at those parks. I will now have to be more inquisitive when I book a space.
I appreciate everyones kind comments about our new family member. This will be our first Lab and we are looking forward to the extra exercise she will make us do.

Phil, Cathy,
In case you haven't figured it out yet...... Labs think they are cute little lap dogs! They don't seem to understand that they are 70+ pounds! They do love to be petted and a "part of" anything and everything you are doing.
If we ever get a big dog it will probably be a lab.
Enjoy.

We also travel with large dogs - one being a 2 year old yellow lab at 85 lbs. Gotta love all that hair they shed :-)

Great choice. Of course we're partial to labs and they make frequent furry decorations on the sofa.

Phil and Cathy -
Congrats on Villa. During the rally, I put a downpayment on a new Lab due to be born for early 2010. It sounds like a long way away, but this will be Betty's first litter. Seeing Cathy with Villa makes me remember how much I miss my little buddy Magnum. I hope you have a great time learning about each other. What a lucky Lab, getting to ride around in a truck all the time. Labs like trucks.

Hi Cathy and Phil,
What a pretty puppy Villa is! How is she getting along in her new home?
We have Sam's "bling" handy for dark nights to put on Raider, though this park in Morgan Hill, CA is very well lit! We needed it back in San Antonio, NM. Wonderful dark skies there! Finally got a chance to pull the big telescope out and see the vast number of stars.
As Grant has mentioned, we had a wonderful time in Alaska this summer! My only disappointment was not seeing the Aurora in person. Not for lack of trying! I got up several mornings around 2 or 3 AM, back in Sept.,only to have the clouds come in and obscure the view. I check the Aurora Cam several times a week. At least I can see them there!
Can't wait to see you in Q!
Happy Trails,
Kathy Webb (Birdingrver's other half) :-)
