Scare light won't shut off
I think I have a short somewhere but not sure where to start. The scare light, pin light and stair light stay on all the time. I have pulled all of the fuses one at a time and they still stay on. I even turned off the battery switch and they stay on. I have solar so I'm not worried of the batteries going dead. I do have to take it to the dealer for an AC problem but curious if any one else has had this problem.

It has been turned on using the remote and it has to be turned off using the remote.

It's a common problem.

Same lighting but a different question. Can the step light be turned on with out the scare and pin light?
Is there a way to rewire with that objective?

Excellent question (that I can't answer), wish they would have wired the step light to the front door light if they had to wire it together with something.

David, I did put our step light on its own switch. If you decide to do this you will have to find a hot power source behind the service panel(panel with all the light switches and Fantastic fan controls) to tie into to supply power to the switch. I did this by tying into the hot supply to the porch light and jumping over to the new switch. With the switch I used I also had to jump to a neutral supply since the switch is a lighted switch. I chose the lighted switch so I would have a visual indication inside the camper when the step light is on. I saw no need to connect to the porch light since when it's on you have no problem seeing the steps plus we hardly never use the porch light. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help. Tim

Just bought a 2012 Montana High Country 313RE, and checking it out has been interesting, to say the least. Searched the owner's manual for the answer to the scare light question, and clearly I should have Googled it and saved an hour of frustration. Thank you all for the simple answer; I'll be back, I'm sure.
