Replacement cable kit OUT OF STOCK

I must have purchased the last of the replacement cable kits when I recently bought 3 from Amazon. In a previous post, I told how I ended up using all 3. Now I'm looking for another couple to have on hand and EVERY site that "carries" them indicates they're out of stock, with no ETA on a new supply. I can buy a couple from my dealer for $50 each, but I'm not quite ready to do that, yet.

1) Anyone know of a supplier that has some in stock for a reasonable price -- in the neighborhood of $30?

2) The kits come with an end termination already attached to the cable. Is it feasible to obtain similar hardware and swage them onto a piece of excess cable (assuming it's long enough)? I'm looking online to see if I can find an end termination like the ones used for these systems. Haven't found one yet. Or, rather than swaging, there may be another means of attaching the termination to the cable. I've seen some mention of other methods online.

You might just do an online search. Dyers and others have decent prices and likely will have what you want in stock. If you have already replaced all your cables you likely will not need any replacements any time soon.

Hey Bob I just did a quick Google and sure enough most all suppliers are out or say to call for availability. There maybe some rat holed in a dealership somewhere, but most of the name suppliers appear to be empty.

Many types of RV parts are currently hard to find or completely out of stock. AC units seem to be one of the items.

If it was made in a far off oriental land, it may not return to stock until alternate sources are developed.

I'm kind of surprised anyone could use up three cables on one RV. We have owned two 5ers with cable slides and have yet to need any of the set of 4 I keep on hand. Current unit has four slides and 16 total cables and have yet to see wear or fraying. Of course, these cables do fail on occasion but so far, keeping a watch on ours

You're fortunate! I've had the RV since 2018, and this is the 2nd time to replace a cable in the same position. The shop that replaced it the first time SHOULD have checked the bracket alignment, but apparently didn't. The other one that was fraying was on the opposite end of the same room. The use of the 3rd cable was due to my error in replacing one of the aforementioned cables.

This may be a good time to consider valves that actuate by solid rods or electric.

OK! That now makes sense. My 3 spares are just gatering dust and hope that they stay dusty

Yes, I have beenn lucky since 2006 (previous unit) and 2014 (current) with no cables needing replacing. I have needed to adjust them though, especially the longes, and 13 foot slide

Believe it was Lynwood. He was nice enough to send one to me several years ago.

I’m pretty sure they are talking about cables for the slides and not waste tank valve cables.

Got some

After being out of stock, Amazon's site showed availability recently. I ordered 2 kits and received them yesterday.
