The main problem seems to be that the majority of these screws simply attach a plastic fender to thin plastic. Once the hole is stripped which only requires an extra turn on the screw, there is nothing for the screw to bite into. When I placed the speed nuts on the back of the plastic, I could instantly feel the difference in the bite of hte screw. I believe this will serve to be a permanent fix, but will monitor for a while to confirm that.

Unlike many of you I have no screws loose. That's what the six foot rabbit standing next to me told me and I believe him. I do like this washer idea. I have used them on other applications. I guess I'm not on the road enough to lose anything cuz I can see that they can easily become roadbeaten and loose. Better get some so I don't lose any screws.

Great idea! I'm going to have to do this also. We lost a couple screws on our last trip.

Did same as Bingo on the 06 3400 and this Big Sky. How much would it add to the cost of the product if the manufacturer would do that at the factory.

One thing for certain - be sure you use stainless steel ones. Otherwise they won't last long.
