Dishwasher for Montana

I would like input of anyone that has added a dishwasher to their Montana. Been doing dishes 3 times a day, so would love to not have to do it any more.

Which one of you are doing the dishes-- Ron or Nellie?

You are either eating too good or running a restaurant out of your Montana! Don't like paper plates?

This is what we use in our Monty and love it. We just started using a water softener and can't believe the differnce in how good the dishwasher works. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sunpentown...ilver/16571639

those ones from Walmart get good reviews but where would we put it when not in use?? my wife would love to have one she does dishes 2-3 times a day too but we do not want to take up valuable counter space and they weigh 50 lbs. And NO WAY would she use paper plates she LOVES cooking and Entertaining using REAL plates reminds her of when she still lived in a stick and brick and she likes that

Besides the space taken up, what about the water hook up? My rig has a built in spray head in the kitchen sink, How would this thing connect there, without changing the whole thing out?

I am most likely about to get a whole lot of men in trouble here, but we have had a dishwasher since back in the TT days. We started with a Vesta countertop dishwasher and it worked well in the TT and the 3400. We kept it on a microwave cart in the TT and the countertop in the 3400. The disadvantage of this is it is limited to a four place setting and does not have a dry cycle (you open the door and the dishes air dry) Here it is on the 3400's counter:

The 3750 actually gave us an opportunity for a real dishwasher since it has room for transport and does not take up substantial room when we are set up since we set it next to the fridge and the dinette slide, this is what I got for DW (and yes, I got all kinds of Brownie points for it!!):

Sorry, guys!

I remember a couple years ago, some folks had installed some brand of built in. Might want to search the archives.

OK, I did a search of the archives, and the links/pictures in them weren't any good (broken and missing). However, one showed Mudchief as having installed one, so you might PM him or wait to see if he responds.

True, but you guys seem to have more room than we do. Sometimes the only answer is help with the dishes. Guess now I'm in trouble with some of the guys.

Heck, I don't "help" with the dishes, I do the dishes which is why we own a dishwasher. I bought it last year and the DW absolutely loves it. I haven't let a dirty pot, pan or dish into the sink since. I hate to admit it, but before this purchase, it was pretty easy to tell what we had for supper 3 days ago. It also helps with my fishing as you see, I'm on SSD and with the DW working, I get to go fishing when my housework is done. I've been fishing a lot since we bought our dishwasher, not so much before.

Both of ours had the quick connect adapters, however it would not work on the original Moen faucet that came with the 3400. The female threads on that faucet were plastic and not deep enough to get a bite. I changed the faucet (see previous photo) to make sure it had metal threads and it still has the spray and extension attachment that work with the quick-connect. The instructions for the dishwasher quick connect said to not use it with this type of faucet, I did it anyway and have not had a problem in years of having the dishwasher.

We got one of those counter top units. We did not want it there so I installed in under the kitchen sink. Everything needed for hook-ups were there. I did have to relocate the trap for the kitchen sink but not a big deal. The hardest part was finding the right connectors for making the connections tie in to the existing plumbing. Home Depot/Lowes did not have the parts but I was able to find them at a different local hardware store that keeps odd ball size fittings in stock.

I kept the doors on the cabinet but had to remove part of the center post. So when not loading you can not even tell it is there.

Our only complaint is it is loud but I think it is just more of a issue with we are so use to the dish washer at home. It is so quiet you can watch TV in the kitchen with it running.

We share the dish washing "chore". It is really not that big a deal. We also supplement with paper plates and like all good RVers eat out.

Don't let my wife read this because what I am about to say is detrimental to my health. I have a built in dishwasher and it just keeps on going. It's free (yea right) as far as upkeep, don't have to repair it and it works day in and day out. Ok y'all get the picture but I believe I am going to hear something about this post......lol

All kidding aside, I do a lot of dishes myself and being retired we both have plenty of time to do the dishes.

I am the dish washer (will work for food). Also self cleaning.

DW is the dryer.
